About Us
IV Medical was founded in 2000 to address the need for cost containment within the healthcare market by focusing on innovative products used to administer and monitor intravenous (IV) therapy.
Since inception, IV Medical has remained committed to developing products and technologies that reduce overall costs to the end user but more importantly, throughout the development and manufacturing process used to deliver high quality medical devices to the market place.
In early 2004, IV Medical entered into a long-term manufacturing agreement to supply Abbott Laboratories the GraviTech® Flow Controller, one of the products invented by its founder Michael Simon. The Gravitech is a gravity-fed manual flow controller used to administer IV therapy and medications to the patient with superior flow rate accuracy that compensates for changes in pressure or patient movement. Hospira, a spinoff from Abbott Labs, eventually acquired the Gravitech in 2008.
Since that time, IV Medical has continued to develop innovative products that reduce overall cost to the end user such as GIMS™, an innovative and cost effective means to monitor the rate of IV therapy administered to the patient; and a new valve assembly for improved accuracy during administration.
IV Medical markets its products primarily to large global hospital supply manufactures, major buying organizations and specific healthcare providers. In addition, our company works with well qualified inventors and startups in bringing their ideas through the medical device process.
Our business model is simple — we develop and bring to market innovative, safe and effective IV therapy products that lower overall cost to the end user through expertise, years of experience and key corporate relationships.
